Winding Down

So time here in Barcelona is winding down. I´m quite ready to move on, hit the road and really start the journey. I´m feeling a little staid here at the moment. I´ve never spent 5 weeks in one place that wasn´t New York.
I´ll be heading out of Barcelona on Monday, on a really cheap train to Valencia. (I´m only a little curious as to why it´s half the price of other trains since it runs in about the same time frame…but I think it´s because it´s no frills: i.e. no dining car, etc.)
-more-

I´ll be posting a map with my route through Spain a bit later. Having moved again this weekend I no longer have wireless access, and thus it´s difficult to post pictures. I do have a tip that there may be a Starbucks with WiFi…but say it with me now…ewwwww, Starbucks. They´re colonizing here too.
So anyway, the apartment change…
I´ve moved to a neighborhood of the city called El Raval. It´s in the very center of the city, but being a highly imigrant neighborhood, it´s cheap and interesting. (I´d make an East Village reference here…but for the ´cheap´part.) It´s the neighborhood where I shot the grafitti pictures. I´m now only a ten minute walk from school, and quite happy. I have puppies too! 2 adorable little puppies with more character then you can imagine. Lena and Tucci follow me about the apartment, hoping I might feed them.
I´ve been trying to fit a lot in to the last week here: trips to museums, la Catedral, notable cafes and so forth. Didn´t realize there was so much I hadn´t done yet!
Today I´m headed to El Palau de Musica Catalonia…or something like that. It´s a Modernisme concert hall designed by a famous Catalan architect. I think I´ll skip the guided tour as I´ve heard the exterior of the building is fabulous in it´s own right, and the entrance hall where they sell tickets is the most photographed part.
Hopefully, I´ll have some new pics up tomorrow…
Must run…
