Busyness!

The trip to napier was interesting. We didn’t really spend much time there, though- just me, 7 chinese students, and one guy each from japan and PNG. I introduced them to headbanging. Not my fault, either. Bohemian rhapsody came on. No one had ever seen waynes world. Any of them. So sad. Anyway, Napier-

Napier was pretty- the trip went something like this-

  • 7.00- go outside and wait for everyone
  • 7.10- keep waiting, hunt some of them down
  • 7.20- leave campus
  • 7.25- gas/ snack stop
  • 7.40- on the road
  • 10.00- arrive in napier
  • 10.30- find info-spot
  • 10.45- play on beach, take photos
  • 10.55- drive up to top of bluff, take photos
  • 11.30- lunch/ wander town

and on and on and on. I don’t think I actually saw anything of napier, but did get to go to… 6? I think it was 6 fish markets looking for fresh live lobster. I thought you didn’t want spring lobster, but what do I know. I don’t eat lobster.

Anyway, by about 3 we had wandered to the top of a mountain (more photos) and down to a vineyard, (Te Mata- outside hastings) where we drove the poor pregnant lady nuts. I bought two bottles of vino that should be just about drinkable when (if) I graduate. One bottle even has something resembling a cork. Raw, but might have promise.

Then off to the honey center thingy. Which was cool. I bought some honey, and some really neat antena-thingies on a headband. They go boing, and are yellow and black stripe-ed. The headband is yellow marabu- not my color, but way fun to wear around.

Finally got back to palmy about 7pm. Got changed, went out. Fun fun silly willy.

I don’t think I’ll be taking any more trips with them, tho- the whole group-thing drives me nuts. Even if it was free. Well, transportation anyway.
