Orana Wildlife Park
Today, I went to Orana Wildlife Park. Orana Wildlife Park is operated by the Orana Wildlife Trust. The park is set on 80 hectares of park-like grounds. Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand’s largest wildlife and conservation centre and only open range zoo.
The Park had been developed as an open range sanctuary for endangered animals, providing them with enclosures as close to their natural habitat as possible. Streams, moats and banks are used as barriers to allow visitors the opportunity to see the animals in a natural manner. Over 400 animals from 70 different species are displayed.
The name Orana is the Maori word for welcome or place of refuge. Orana Wildlife Park is internationally recognised for its involvement in captive breeding programmes for endangered exotic animals, as well as research relating to New Zealand’s own rare fauna.

how come your description of Orana Wildlife Park sounds like you copied it out of pamplet or something?

Yeah, it does sound like that copy was written for a pamphlet. What gives? Are you A) stealing descriptive information from available brochures, or B) considering a new career in travel writing and using us as guinea pigs?
Either way– JEALOUS! Say hello to the wildlife.

Orana!
Love your travelogue but noticed you’re spelling like a “bloke” — recognise (kidding!).
It’s great to see you’re having a good time and meeting people. Just have to ask — did you connect with any guys yet? Tell me about it in an email (not on the blog!)
Well, it’s Friday again — thank goodness — and your boss is really missing you. Jon just doesn’t have your special laugh (that we all miss at lunchtime; it just isn’t the same).
Well, we change the clocks this weekend and it’s Hallowe’en on Monday. I’ll take pictures of anyone who dresses up for Hallowe’en at work! Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving. I can’t believe how fast the time goes.
Please keep writing on the blog and sending photos. It’s great to visit New Zealand through your eyes.
