the good the bad and the ugly

Halong Bay to Hanoi, Vietnam

Check out our view last night:

Looks perfect, yes?
The Mama’s journal tells a different story.

“Drifted through the bay. Saw more of the rounded humps rising steeply from the water. Magical. Too bad the family vibes were nothing short of negative.”

You’d think in such an idyllic setting we’d appreciate the wonder before us and each other, for that matter. But we’re fallen creatures, and even the most beautiful scenery can be marred by unkind words and unrealistic expectations. You could have poked a chopstick through the tension. Sad, but true.

This little vignette of reality struck a jarring, but honest note, reflecting the challenge of living at peace with one another.
Is it any wonder that there is so much heartache in the world, when people who really love one another, find it hard, at times, to live out their ideals?
May Joy, Peace and Love quickly manifest themselves back among the Bears!

(((hugs))) (says she once again stuck following the man who can slip “vignette” into a comment so deftly!) so many families in our society struggle to get along when forced to share a room with but one family member, so 10 to 4 beds would be warrant for hiking boots at 10 paces! So you’re doing pretty well IMO! 🙂 though i suspect that boots at 10 paces on a junk might find you in the river, whether by misadventure or ruckus! lol…

but yeah, once again, what grandpabear said! 😉
