Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic
This is a tiny, tiny little town, with plenty to do because of the huge number of tourists.
The book recommended it as a must see point, so I’m stopping here briefly. One night, turned into two, then I’m getting the heck out of here.
Day Trip – Cesky Bejovic
I originally went in to see the brewery, Budweiser, but turns our I just toured the town. They have everything from really old decrepit buildings, to a nice new clean shopping mall. This place is also pretty small, but the main tourist attractions are walkable.
The Castle
The castle is much of a palace castle, not like a traditional castle. It has decorations and items painted on. It looks very odd like this, all details painted. The grounds it covers is quite large, as just inside the first wall of the town is where my hostel was located.
Went inside the palace, and it was great how it was full of paintings, furniture, tapestries, pewter dishes, everything almost all original. Again the decorations were painted on, but you get used to it. The tour was great. The last room, when i walked in it made me gasp. it was a theatre for performances, the walls were painted with figures in bright colors, the room had at least 9 chandeliers and it was massive.
The hostel was really neat, tons of single beds in the cottage like building. It almost was built like a stable or something like that, huge beams – watch your head, and steep steep stairs. It was pretty neat, with a restaurant, bar, and outside terrace. Turns out its the busabout hostel there, and ran into someone again.
There were lots of other things to do in town, like ride a raft or inner tube down the calm river, or go horseback riding, but don’t think I have the time, so I moved on. A really long train ride, over to Vienna.
