The Blue City

The Jodhpur Fort was fan-diddily-tastic!

Deciding to part with an extra couple of rupees, we grabbed ourselves a couple of rather funky looking audio headsets and set of for our very own personal tour of the Fort. This I liked a lot. Not only did it give us the time to wander around at our own leisure, stopping for a bite to eat in the rather pretty looking Fort cafe, but it enabled me to head to the toilet at that time of desperate need when the diarrhoea kicked in!

The audio tour itself was brilliant. Stopping at points from one to thirty something, we simply pressed the idiot proof buttons and out came the history, facts and even music! I especially liked the optional buttons for extra tales and info at certain sections should you wish to hear more.

Not only was the Fort itself superb, but the view even better. Jodhpur is known as the blue city for the colour of its buildings, and the view of this city from the fort was just breath-taking. Traditionally blue houses signified the home of a Brahmin, but non-Bramhins have got in on the act too!

The first photo is of this awesome looking knife that splits with a clinch of the handle. What a weapon. Not that I condone that sort of behaviour of course.

And that was only the first time! 😉

Two weeks after that I was poisoned with a re-frozen ice-cream and then two weeks after that a gone off milk-shake. Lucky me!

Unfortunately Rupert didn’t escape too light either, some dodgy custard came and attacked him a few days ago. I’m looking after him though don’t worry – after all, I think its about my turn!

Hope all is well in France and wishing you all a Happy New Year.

    All my love,
    Laura x

You know, I’ve just noticed we don’t have a picture of Laura actually riding the camel. She did, honest (we do have photos, but apparently not good enough to share with everyone – so maybe one day when Laura’s not looking).
