…VW Campers continuation

On Wednesday Jasmine asked me to check over the story to make sure all things VW were correct. She had an extremely busy day, and ended up asking me to finish the story as well as checking it over, which of course I was thrilled to do!

Which means that this Sunday’s Independent will feature the story with our joint by-line on it. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to see it! To me writing is a lot more than just a name in the paper, but it is a nice perk to say “Hey, look at what I’ve worked hard to achieve and enjoyed doing along the way”.

I was even more stunned when I got to work yesterday and had the finance editor on the phone to me asking for pictures, which I had no responsibility for but unfortunately Jasmine was out filming all day, but took the challenge to get four photos by 1pm. This was at 10.30am. Needless to say, many issues ensued, including unreachable people, an ever prolonging deadline, a crazy lady on the phone yelling at me, and God know what else! Mel was awesome and together, by half past 4, we had eleven photos with half captions going through to the editor. I don’t know how it panned out in the end, I will just have to wait and see how the story comes out on Sunday.

But Mel definitely gave me some great tools of the trade including schmoozing and bargaining tips! So not sharing!

And what’s the one thing Mandy always says? Make sure you have pictures to go with your story!

As if I didn’t need to just go home and sit last night, after Simon and Ian made awesome pizzas for dinner, and we all – yeah, all five of us :-), watched House, I got stuck into the kitchen. Cupboards, draws, fridge, I pulled everything out, wiped everything down, threw out the mouldy bread I found, some dead apples, a few other things that were just icky like cream from last month! Took all the rubbish downstairs, did two loads of washing, cleaned out the bathroom – there were about four tubes of empty toothpaste lying around. Yeah. Did it all by myself too.

I was done by half past 12 (midnightish), so started on the final task for the night. Dying my hair.

I have gone back to brunette, dark chocolate brown to be exact.

I’ll probably have some of the red come out from underneath to lighten it, which is ok cos it was really dark when I got up this morning! It’s actually growing at a decent rate, two inches below my shoulders, even my shorter fringe layers at the front have grown an inch or so!

Don’t know why. I always change it every so often when I feel like I need a change. It was good though, cos I just got the Boots brand and did it myself. £3. Yeah, I’m a real big spender.

Anyway, if you haven’t heard yet, London’s back on (unofficial) terror alert today after a car was found around the Picadilly Circus area this morning at 2am with a bomb in it. Scotland Yard is now investigating it, saying that parts came from international sources. Read for yourself.
