The looong weekend

Man, this weekend dragged by – must be the current bout of miserable weather we’re having at the moment. That’s ok, give me 12 days and I’ll be in Europe where it’s still 30 degrees EVERYWHERE!

On Friday night Lija and I met up at Victoria Station and took the train to Sarah’s place. It took 25 minutes to queue for tickets because everyone was going out of town/home for the weekend. It’s a 45 minute train ride along the national rail and then a ten minute walk from the station.

We went because Sarah’s sister was hosting an Ann Summers party. I’ll say no more – if you want to know, google it!

Yes it was a giggly night cos we were on the white wine. No we didn’t buy anything (although I did see a cute pair of jammies but they don’t come out till September). Yes Sarah and Emma’s mum was there so Emma was extremely embarassed at what her mum was coming out with and nearly died of horror when she was deciding which DVD to buy!

We stayed over at Sarah’s and took the train home on Saturday morning, only to change and go back out to Oxford St. Yes, shopping. Problem? We are women after all!

Ok, so as it usually goes, I didn’t get what I wanted, which was a couple of polo shirts to travel with, better, I got a pair of comfy cargos for £6.99 – yeah, £7 for pants! And they go really well with my primark singlets – after all, who needs sleeves – it’ll still be in the thirties in Europe!

We went down Regent St, that’s where I found the pants, and then rather than walking through Leicester and up Charing Cross to Tott Crt Rd, I took Lija up through the red light disctrict around Soho. Yeah, I know where it is – we walked through there when I did the Beatles tour!

In the evening we took the train over to Ali’s and went to the movies – Bourne Ultimatum was sold out as it was opening weekend, so we saw The Simpson’s Movie, which I was really impressed with! It was great, so funny! All the old quips and a few new!

Sunday was boring cleaning, washing, shopping day. So glad that others pitched in and helped…not. Then decided to treat myself with all that hard work that I sat with my feet in the bath and soaked them with my music on, pumiced them, moisturised them and put socks on so they’d stay nice. Did that while wearing a face mask and buffing my nails. How relaxing…I could have fallen asleep!

Sometimes a girl’s just gotta recharge the system!
