Tickets Booked, Guatemala baby

Unfortunately, we still have a grueling however long (I think a month or so) of work before we can get on the way.

Still, the tickets have been booked, we’re flying air Mexicana I think. It’s got Mexico in the title, so hopefully it won’t be held together with duct tape and chewing gum (Air Laos, anyone?)

Still relentlessly studing Spanish on a daily basis, I’m picking it up, but some modules are pretty taxing. We’re playing around with the idea of taking a one week course when we get to Antuiga, it won’t make us any good, but might give us just a bit more understanding of the basics.

Scorching weather the past few days, well into the thirties. Slapping on plenty of sun lotion. There’s something called a King Tide which has been harrassing the coasts the past week or so, it basically just means big waves. Really big waves. I’ve been out in the sea a few times and *gulped* as a dark shadow stretched over three feet above me, and I’m 6f 4in. Yikes! Still, I have managed to put off drowning so far and have intention of doing so, so I think I’ll be fine. Looking forward to getting surfing lessons come next pay check.

I’m enormously hung over, so I’m at a loss of anything else to say. Unless of course, anyone wants to bring me a bacon sarnie and cup of P.G. Tips. Ooo lovely.
