Today we went out to the coast. I liked the drive up the most. I saw people people using blades to chop grass instead of lawnmowers. I also saw a man taming chickens at least it looked like it. They were standing all around him with one leg on the ground and one leg up. I saw people living in houses put together with scraps and bits of metal, stray dogs and cows are randomly walking in the street. Up by the coast there were horses and lots of trash on the beach. It was too hot to bear and I could barely keep my eyes open. We went back to Managua to get our luggage. On the way to Granada we got stuck in the rain. There was a huge traffic jam so we had to turn around and go through a longer way. When we got there I was really crabby because I got woken up from my nap in the car. We went out for dinner. After dinner, Mom and Bjorn went to get internet access at a cafe while Dad and me went to a grocery store. We both met up back at the hotel. By that time mom was crabby and I was perky.

Today we walked around town. We left our icky hotel to go to a nice hotel. We went out to the main square to look around. We had lunch at a sandwich shop. There was a lot of stray dogs. We listened to a band in the square. Dad and me went to the bank. Lots of people would walk up to you to ask if you wanted to buy their things. I would say “No, gracias”. We went out for dinner after that. There were people performing on the streets. There was a dog that barked every time a biker came by.

Emma, I so enjoyed you post – I could imagine the scenes just as you described them. I could even imagine your Mom getting crabby! Have Fun!
Emma,
It sounds like you are seeing some interesting sights.
Your descriptions make us feel like we are there with you. We hope you are having a good time.
Great post Emma. Excellent descriptions. My favorite line was “By that time mom was crabby and I was perky.”
