Advanced Scuba: Day 2

Itīs done! I am sill alive. Down close to 40m and back, with no problems. Here are SOME picturesI am officially an Advanced Scuba diver now. PADI loves me. :) But thats no big news. What IS big news, is the amazing aquatic life! Today: Sharks, Lions, Turtles, and Bears! Well....

No bears really. :) but heres a partial list of the neat things I saw:

Sea Turtles
Moray Eels
Hammerhead Sharks
White Tipped Sharks
Barracudas
Sea Lions
Galapagos Puffer Fish
Yellow Fin Tuna (Lots!)
Spotted Eagle Rays

WOW! What a blast. My new friend Martin will send me the link to a number of digital movies and pictures he shot so you call all see... but it was fabulious.

There must have been at LEAST 40 white tipped sharks. Very shortly after starting the dive, i was poking around in a picture perfect cave with a number of light shafts, and BOOM! right in front of me was a large white tipped shark. I was a bit scared. So was the shark. He took off through a light hole. My scuba experience then went on to, playing with turtles!

This is Gordon Rocks, where the firs dive (to 28m) took place.

The turtles in the galapagos are very friendly, and will often come to examine a diver. I had a nice time playing with a few of them.

and speaking of playing.... the baby sea lions LOVE to play. I even got to touch one!! My guide, Roland, says this is a bad idea, as they like to nip. Oops, oh well, i FINALLY got to touch one. :) nice.
