Isabella!

My PLAN before arriving in Isabella was to camp on one of the only legal beaches in the Galapagos. However, upon my arrival, I was soaked and greeted with a not so friendly fishermans pier, LONG from the nice beach......

I was very pleased to hear Antonio Jaramillo calling my name!! Byron had called ahead, and asked him to fetch me. Awww.. how nice.

Hotel San Vincente, run by Antonio and his wife is a cute little place that has lovely meals, hot shower, and is reasonably priced at 8$ per day. The town itself is nothing special, and every building is made of concrete, and not quite finished yet. The most interesting part is the millions of dollars that have been put into developing the town center, and a LOVELY pier.

The real attraction here is the sleepy village feel, and the proximity to the volcanoes.

My time there was spent:

1. wandering around the town
2. trekking to remote animal sites
3. visiting the Darwin turtle breeding site
4. going on horseback to the top of sierra Negra volcano
5. drinking, and playing on the beach.

All in all it was a nice week. I will post more detailed stores about

1. the horseback trip
2. and the murder of a small cow

later.

Miss you all!!
