Melbourne Christmas

I look after the accounts for Melbourne, and as I work closely with them as an office, I was lucky enough to be invited down for their work xmas do.

I flew in on the friday after work to be met by Maus. She took me to her beach house in Torquay and I have to say she's done herself proud.

The house is adorable - and quite a bit like the flat I used to have at home in decoration. Its just down the road from the beach, and she has a palm tree in the garden - what more could a girl ask for?

It's exactly the sort of place I want to have one day - only I want a pool aswell (I just think that that's part of the aussie lifestyle... along with bbq and putting beetroot on all burgers and sandwiches)

We spent the evening getting merryily tipsy and having a real girly catch up - I love working with Maureen, and could happily move to Melbourne to live and work.

The city has a certain vibe to it that I love. Its less hectic than Sydney, and the architecture is a bit more Victorian and less 80's sky scraper.

The work christmas do was lunch on the Saturday, and I got to meet the people I hadn't managed to meet while I was down for the GP and popped into the office that weekend. It was great to be able to meet everyone and finally put faces to voices that I speak to on the phone every single day. They are a lovely bunch of guys, and I enjoyed myself getting to know them and their other halves over a very tasty lunch with a great view over the beaches (didnt take photos though - the story of my life!)

Once lunch was done - it was time for a bit of shopping (be rude not to) and then back to the beach house for more drinks and giggleing.

Sunday brought lovely warm and balmy weather and a trip to St Kilda. the last lot of photos I took of St Kilda it was all a bit dark and miserable - so these should go down better for you. I took plenty of the area in general - I really love it there (apart from the clown - thats just creepy and morally wrong. Why aussies think sticking a clown at the entrance to a fun park is the way to go is beyond me. I am never going to be able to visit a luncar park because I don't think I could walk through the front gate!)

Anyway, here are the pics: enjoy!
