Yup - there really is a town of such a name, and eventually I got round to visiting it!

When I was catching the train to work everyday - one of the stations that I used to hear all the time being announced was Zig Zag. I have no idea what's there or what it would be like. They obviously have a train station and a cool name - and thats enough for me.

Ray knew more about it - it's a historical train station and a very nice ride to get out there - so off we went on the bikes.

He was right - the ride out was lovely - and with my confidence higher now I was able to enjoy the scenery instead of just hanging on grimly and concentrating on the road (and thinking every car was out to get me!) I tootled along at my own pace, and Ray went on ahead, waiting for me at junctions.

The only bad bit about the ride out was the dirt road we had to get down for the car park - eek! Not recommended on a road bike. Maybe a dirt bike would have been more fun. Still it all went fine, and I parked up without any dramas.

The train itself was a steam train - and the entire area of the ride was dotted with various train spotters. There were a couple of different trains running that day, and the people were deeply enthusiastic and having a grand old time.

The scenery was really delightful - not surprising they put a railway there really. I totally enjoyed myself, and got a little enthusiastic myself to be honest :oD

A fab day out in a pretty place. Yay for bikes!
