Holidays rock big time - and Cairns is a bit like Blackpool - and I love Blackpool. Its technically a city (I think) but it's really small - sort of like a seaside holiday town at home. Its got a huge beach which you're not actually allowed to go on due to the crocs. You can't swim in the water due to the deadly jellyfish - why anyone decided to settle it is anyone's guess - but I'm glad they did. Getting out the the plane (in one of the prettiest airports - very similar to Koh Samui airport) the heat hit us like a wave. We knew straight away it was going to be fun. The package we got included transfers to the hotel - and the little coach driver had heaps of drop offs, so he offered to give us a bit of a guided tour after everyone else got off, so we had a bit of an idea of where everything was. The first night we wandered up to the CBD and found dinner - watched some mudskippers flopping about, and generally chilled out. Here are a few pics of the town around and about. It's HOT here compared to Sydney too - perfect for a chilled out holiday - yay! Comments
