January 12, 2005Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro
After we arrived in Rio, me and Cameron checked into our hostle and hit the beach. It was about 90` F and quite humid. Shortly after this picture was taken me and Cameron were invited to play soccer with some local kids right there on the beach. Such nice people, they didnīt even know us or speak our language, but we were welcomed all the same. Later that night I went out with some folks who were staying at the hostle. One of their friends was from Rio, so he knew the town really well. We ended up going to this block party at about 1am. It was crazy! Tons of young cariocas (term for Rio dwellers) ages 16-30 just drinking in the street. Vendors walked around with coolers selling cold beer until the wee hours of the morning (5am) when people finally started going home. Probably the most striking thing about this party, besides the shear volume of unbelievebly hot women, was that it was a Monday night. Rio is my kind of town! Unfortunately, we only spent 2 days there because we took a bus to Belo Horizante to visit Cameronīs friend Jao. But we will be back for Carnival. Comments
