Immortality at no cost

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Aside from the general feeling of possible immortality that everyone under the age of thirty five feels, I can now say that, thanks to the NHS, I’m immune to a whole range of  diseases. Hep A, Diptheria, Typhoid, Tetnus, MMR, the list goes on. I could be dipped in a vat of hooker piss and come out clean.

This is a great comfort to someone who’s genuine concern while away is being hit by a natural disaster/terrorist attack/ biten by a snake.

The big countdown

What else to put here other than I have done what everyone else does who is planning to spend a year away from their home? My beautiful ladyfriend and I have scrimped and saved, we’ve penny pinched and said ‘no’ to big nights out, and now it’s finally here, to a fairly large degree, I’m bricking it.

That’s unfair on my masculinity, I’m just well nervous, you know, backpacking and all that.

So, in preperation, my backpack’s packed (sort of, toiletries not until the day and that sort of thing,) my visa’s are readied and my smug travel blog is set up( hereafter reffered to as a ‘smugblog’.) As a side note this is mainly to keep me writing on a computer than to impart any real interest to anyone, though I’m sure my mum will be reading this on an almost daily basis. Lucky then, that I dont drink or any other such naughties, because she wouldn’t be impressed.

Or rather, lucky that I don’t do these things and then tell her about it in a smugblog after.

Unless they were absolutely friggin’ sweet.

So, until there is actually something of any worldwide worth to put here, I’ll sign off, an excited and very nervous Mike indeed.
