Australia Photos -Sydney
Welcome to Australia…
Sydney is really far from home…
But they have strong feelings about our dear old President…
You can tell you’re someplace else by their version of pigeons…the creepy ibis.
My first day in Sydney I took a stroll through the Botanical Gardens. It was amazing to see how different the plant life is. Magnificent trees such as these are common:
But ,if you read my blog, you know I’m a sucker for palm trees…
At the far end of the gardens, you reach the harbor, and have a lovely view of the Sydney icons…the Opean House and HArbour Bridge.
And you get a great view of the skyline.
And just to proove I was there.
Something not as pretty…the city apparently has a pretty big drug problem and the water front is a big junkie hangout. But at least they make provisions.
On my walk back through the gardens I met some of the local wildlife.
Cockatoos are a friendly lot, I assure you. Maybe too friendly…
I preferred the rainbow lorakeets…which wouldn’t stay still long enough for a good photo, but aren’t they colorful!
The next day: more gardens. I took a visit to the Chinese Garden of Friendship…great name, huh?
Which has gorgeous flowers.
And great artwork.
There’s also an impressive pagoda.
But my favorite corner was where the sleeping baby buddah hangs out.
Sydney was great…live and vibrant with a very diverse populous. I was most impressed by the green spaces, as you can see, but the city is gorgeous at night too…
