More Edinburgh
Edinburgh is really a lovely city. Really pretty place.
I enjoyed the city…but didn’t ‘accomplish’ too much.
I did go to the National Museum of Scotland…or the Scottish National Museum…can’t remember which…
It was a great museum with some really interesting stuff…Displays of pottery from China, Telecommunications evolution, Animals and Insects, Geology, Egyptian artifacts…all mixed together under 1 roof.
I particullarly liked the butterflies
I also got this great shot in a cathedral of sunlight on stained glass leaving this beautiful raindow on the wall.
The Cathedral was actually named St. Giles Cathedral, or St. Giles Kirk depending on who you ask. So I had to take a picture 😉 even though they pronounce it differently…
Took a walk past Greyfriar’s Bobby as well…it’s a statue of a dog who watched over the grave of his master…for 14 years, until he died. The people of the city loved him and took care. He ate lunch everyday at the pub….not bad for a dog.
In the end I only spent a couple days there. I’ve headed on to Cambridge to stay with Philip from the bootsnall site. He’s a lovely host and I’m having a great time. We’re even going to get Harry Potter at midnight tonight…like big dorks.
That’s all for now…
