Back in Brooklyn
I’m settling back in, having returned Friday from Europe…
I’ve got a ton of stuff to accomplish before Monday morning. when I’ll be up bright and early to greet a new chapter: my life as an English teacher.
I’m slowly plodding through my pre-course work, my head muddled with grammar, phonetics and teaching tips. I am making progress though. Slowly.
I’ve also had to rescue my desk from months of detrius, a collection of books, papers, bills and lost items that have not found their proper place. My desk had sadly become a repository for all the things I thought I’d get to later. Now, I need it free and clean, to actually be able to sit and write and study as I haven’t done since college. I’ve waded through most everything…but my piles of books not yet read have no other home. They sit, stacked, reminded me of the thousands of pages I’ve yet to get to.
I’ve also got more then a few calls to make and emails to return, though I don’t think it’s possible to get to all of them today. (If you’re reading this and haven’t heard back from me…I’m getting to it, promise.)
I’m just trying to get my head in order, settle back in and get ready for a class that by all accounts is going to kick my ass a little. If y’all don’t see much of me…that is why.
Now…back to work. I still have a ton to do…
