Jack Frost
Winter descended suddenly, but stealthily. Yesterday morning, the perpetual fog had crystallised out of the air and dusted every tree and every branch with a thick layer of icing sugar.
I had to go for a walk to take some pictures. Ninety minutes later, my memory card was full and my battery empty.
Trees hovered above the green lawn like white ghosts.
Weeds dotted the meadows like cotton candy.
Wire fences fluoresced in the ghostly light.
Christmas decorations grew on trees.
Greens merged into white.
The forest was like a white curtain drawn across the landscape (not that this shot captured it ;))
A muddy path led into a crystallised forest.
Frozen flowers lit up the foggy gloom.
The scenery changed from moment to moment. Even the seasons appeared to flow into each other: the greens of summer, the browns of autumn and the white of winter (grey is an all-season-colour around here).
And I wasn’t even trippin’. Honest! Although it seemed like a dream…until it happened all over again, this morning. Tags: Travel, Travels on my Doorstep, Tag Index
