Our Biggest Complaints About Malaysia….

1. The coral on the beach hurt our feet.

2. The sound of the waves made us have to pee in the middle of the night.

3. The fishing boats blocked our sunset view.

4. Muslim countries don’t sell booze.

The Perhentian islands were incredible. Tiny islands in the middle of the ocean, no road, no cars, no nothing. Literally. These are the kind of islands that you see from a boat with nothing on them, but this one had some guest houses. It’s basically just a jungley rock with some small white sandy coves around it. To get from cove to cove there was a little jungle trek, or you could take a boat-taxi. The sand was like buttah baby. So white and soft it was almost unreal. The water… holy crap it was bright tourquoise. We would tell you about everything that we did… but we didn’t do anything!!! HEAVEN!

We got a great bungalow on the beach, hung the new hammocks that we got in Bali, and called ourselves happy. Todd read 3 books in the 7 days that we were there. Lisa got a perfect tan. We did go scuba diving one day. The visability was not so good but we saw some cool new marine creatures. That was enough stimulation for the whole week.

Leaving indonesia and coming to malaysia was one of the best decisions that we made on this trip. Tomorrow we will get to kuala Lumpur for 2 days.. and then back to the singapore airport (YEAH!!) to catch our flight for Australia.

Here is our cozy bungalow and some other pictures to warm ya’ll up!!

Lisa, you have done what 18 years of education could not do–get Todd to read a book! Are you sure he didn’t pack some Cliff’s Notes with him? I’m impressed.
Thanks for the wonderful photos. For half a second, I forgot that I’m still living in a cold, rainy part of the world.

How are you going to make the transition back into the working world? I thought that I had been living the plush life! The pictures and commentary are wonderful. Is Todd studying for his Doctorate of Vacation; are you sure those were books? Vacation brochures do not count as books. I love you and really enjoy reading about your travels; better than reality t.v. May your travels continue to be safe.
    Love,

    Weider and Karyn

Unfortunately, Andy forgot to mention that Toddy’s 18 years of education only got him through the 6th grade in Virginia. I had to make that perfectly clear for all of us readers not from the armpit of the South, a.k.a. Virginia. Lisa, make sure you take away his copy of “Old Yeller” before he gets to the end. You know how he cries himself to sleep every time he reads it.

Also, if there are pictures on every page, then they don’t count as “real” books Todd. Keep that in mind. Just stick to something that you won’t catch any crap from us for doing…just sleep and swing in your hammock. You will need the practice for Hana.

You two don’t hurt yourselves doing nothing all day. Must be nice…

West Point blows that scene away….you know it…
Don’t even kid yourself into thinking something different…

whoa, those pics almost make little old maui’s beaches look like the jersey shore!!! i can’t even believe the little corners of the earth you guys have visited in the last several months…it just keeps getting better!
although it would be a DREAM to meet up with you two in australia or new zealand for spring break, i’m pretty damn excited that emily and maura are coming here to maui!
xox love you guys, be safe xox
BDaddy, you’re killin’ me with your comments.

Now BDADDY, as “my baby Todd’s favorite mother”, I take offense at your slam on the fine education in Virginia in the Martinsville City School system where Athletics was a top priority and “my fine son excelled in them” and as Scott says, he excelled in greatly aggrevating the refs…… I just don’t understand how you can belittle our educational system.

Virginia being one of the original colonies, in case you don’t know, is also privy to having many outstanding young men and women’s boarding schools. This is what all Virginia gentlemen do. My poor Toddie and I rest my case for the rest is history!

Todd and Lisa – I can’t tell you how I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your stories and seeing the pictures. I would have liked to been a fly on the wall at the police station ;0} I don’t know how you two will ever come back to reality! Can’t wait to see you at Andy’s wedding.

  9. Spence Jah says:

BDADDY, you just got served. You remember how good Todd is at Quidditch while he was attending Hogswart.

Todd and Lisa, love the pictures. Unreal, brah. So why am I in fornt of a computer and not on a beach like that? hmmmm. Have a good time in the land of Oz.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with all of us losers back here in the states…work shmerk. These pictures are unreal-what a paradise!!! Be safe, have fun and we’ll see you in May for our BIG day!!

  11. BDADDY says:

Good call/burn Spence Jah, and might I say, that was a very good Harry Potter reference. Todd will definately pick up on it since I believe he wrote a “thesis” on Harry Potter in order to graduate.

You see Cece, I am over and above qualified to slam the Virginia school system…I am a product of the South Carolina school system, also one of the founding colonies and the last to remain a colony (yeah, we didn’t feel like joining the United States was such a good idea at the time. I’m still saving my Confederate money in case we change our minds). I didn’t understand the boarding schhol part though. Please, please tell me that Toddwick went to a boarding school! That would just be some of the greatest news I have heard in a long while. If you could also tell me that Carson was his roommate while away at school, then I would be in heaven. Oh good stuff.

Well keep the pictures coming. I like thinking that, just for a minute, I am there in those pictures taking my vacation around the globe. Good job you kids.

    Bu-bye

  12. Cece says:

BDADDY, well duh, you Carolina boy, I was slaming on Todd’s fine redneck education as he did not go to one of our outstanding private schools. He and Carson excelled in jumping out of classroom windows and going to Hardys. Also, they are pros at playing spades!

Welcome back to Western civilization, Todd and Lisa. Aren’t we all glad Lisa has such wonderful writing skills. And she is quite a photographer also. Hello, Todd, write one for us to prove BDADDY wrong………

    Love you, Mom
