The whole world at my feet...
This blog is for my family and friends, to let them know my plans and predicaments, my adventures and experiences. To let them know when I'm on the move or staying put, and maybe even when I'm coming home - don't count on it anytime soon though! Enjoy...you are always on my mind, or at least at the back of my mind :-)December 17th, 2007
So much to tell, so little time. No, literally. I’ve been trying to find a spare moment sometime in the last couple of weeks which have just been crazy and hectic since work has found out how dedicated I am at most times, and have taken great advantage in that knowledge.
Car-free shopping December 1
December 10th, 2007Ok, so it’s been a week but I still wanted to post this, been a bit busy!
Some of my favourite things: cooking, chocolate and home
November 30th, 2007I made the best chicken casserole tonight. I took a recipe from the cupboard and re-hashed it to my liking, and damn it was good. Along with the garlic and bay leaves and tomato puree went half a bottle of red. I may not be able to drink while working, but it doesn’t count when it’s in the food! And the baby potatoes and carrots came out so deliciously soft and the chicken breast just slipped off the bone.
Too much excitement for one day
November 20th, 2007I’ve had several shifts so far and they’ve mostly run smoothly, although yesterday seemed a bit too much! …
Two careers, side by side
November 19th, 2007As of this week I have officially started casual work with an agency here in London, as well as continuing with my work on the site, and I couldn’t be happier.
I had a shadow shift on Monday at a nursing home in the north, from 8am till 2pm. It wasn’t the first time I’d been in a nursing home, I’ve been through working with Interchange and to visit Vecmamma’s friend Ivy too, but it was the first time I’ve been ‘behind-the-scenes’ if you will.
One liners, Wicked witches, and Hollywood stars!
November 12th, 2007London is fast becoming ‘my turf’. I found this feeling over the weekend while gallivanting around the city and ‘burbs with Doug. Said so casually, he took the long weekend to fly over from P.E.I., and I had a blast!
London: fireworks, moving (again) and moolah!
November 8th, 2007Time to update my blog. Well, I’m not really sure who’s still reading it, and that coupled with the woes of the last few weeks there just hasn’t been anything of interest to say. Sometimes adventures come to a standstill, and sometimes we have to stop and remember that the discovery is in the journey, not the destination.
Back in London
October 19th, 2007We’ve been home for a week and a half and I still feel like I’m in limbo.
The week in retrospect : Crash bang smashed in Croatia
October 6th, 2007The week has been one big blur not ending so crash hot, although crash is one word to remember. Our second night was spent at the port of Trstenik, which was a small island with just a few cafes and a small milkbar.
