Back in London

We’ve been home for a week and a half and I still feel like I’m in limbo.

We spent several days at Ali’s on the couch, and Ali’s flatmate Bronagh was wonderful about it, telling us to stay as long as we needed, etc. Her boyfriend Tim is from Sydney and he’s just finished his journalism degree. He’s just working in a pub at the moment, but I said I’d give him some resources for writing over here. Our first house we wanted to move into turned out to be a scam which was quickly uncovered, recovered, referred on to the authorities and is now out of our hands.

The place we have moved into has no contract, which is a good thing because it also has no lounge room, a crap shower, small windows, only the top floor, a third roommate who is a smoker, and oh yeah, did I mention the house next door which was raided the other night? I woke up at 1am to see three guys jumping over the back fence of the house next door. When Lija went to work the police were sitting outside watching the place, and the officer told her they had found thousands of cannabis plants inside, and had caught several of the guys the night before. Ah, so loving London. Not.
