Old town
We wandered around the old town of Satzburg today, where all the Oktoberfest celebrations were in full swing. They had their own carnival and beer tent happening.
I went up to the Abbey, which they used for filming, but they refused to take me, so I went down the nun’s steps to check out St Peter’s graveyard, which was the inspiration for the hideout graveyard in the film.
I joined the others, including our roomate Sarah, and walked up the old streets where there are new shops but no neon signs allowed – even the golden arches were steel. Sarah and I had to do washing in the afternoon, then we all went down to the gardens with cheese, bickies, olives and bread. Lis’ swiss came in handy to cut the bread and cheese! It was nice with the sun setting and people walking in the gardens.
