Hopping along for now
It’s ANZAC Day today. I was looking forward to a 7 hour time-and-a-half shift with one of my favourite girls, but alas, I’m stuck at home on the couch. Yesterday I rolled my ankle on shift, drove the kid home, went to work and stuck an ice pack on and ended up having mum come and take me to hospital. X-rays showed it was a bad sprain, leaving me on crutches for at least the next four days. And mum was worried about me going paintballing before we left!

Darling girl, you’re forgetting the number one rule of travel: Stop worrying!
Seriously, I want you to relax and let it all go. Oddly enough, I hear that you CAN buy clothes in Europe — as well as knitting needles, yarn, music, sim cards, adapters and all other kinds of things. I hear you get these things at STORES and that you can use CREDIT CARDS to make purchases for those times you can’t find an ATM to pull local currency out of your Aussie account. And if you take eight pair of shoes to Europe, I’m afraid you can no longer be my friend. I will think of you often and remember you fondly, but too much is too much. LET IT GO. (This is all outlined in “Jitterbug Perfume” by Tom Robbins. A very good airplane/travel read and a carry-on even Qantas will allow.)
