7 Weeks to Go

49 measly sleeps till we fly (yipppppeeeee!!!)

I am feeling much more positive about the logistics of this trip.  I have advertised the house and we have decided that if we cannot find the right tenant, we’ll leave the house in the care of a housesitter for the time we are away.

I have started packing lists, we have bought the schooling material for our oldest son that we’ll need and we are getting down to the nitty gritty of route planning.

I’ll update with my lists as soon as I get a chance.

8 weeks 3 days to go

We are getting there slowly, but surely.

House – nearly built but we haven’t found a tenant yet

Pets – I have found a wonderful cattery but am still hoping to find a housesitter and for them to stay at home

Job – I’ve bottled this one and not yet said a word.  I am legally obliged to give a months’ notice, which is what I think I’ll do

General – our excitement levels rise with each passing day.  We have plotted our trip through the USA and have calculated a detailed plan with mileage and dates.  We have yet to book campsites but I am hoping to leave a little bit of room for spontaneous decisions once we get there.

I need to book a good family friendly hotel in New York and we are currently looking at the myriad resorts in Fiji.
