Day 59
We just left the Safari Ostrich Farm, the first activity, and first full day in the Garden Route. It was cool, interesting, and just plain fun!
My favorite part was sitting on and riding the ostrich. When I sat on the ostrich, I felt its spine and the soft feathers underneath me, I felt as if I was sitting on a cloud. While I was riding the Ostrich I had to lean back to keep my balance and had to hold on for dear life.
Day 58
The Swartzberg Pass is part of the Garden Route, also known as the drive from Still Bay to Plattenburg Bay in south central South Africa. The Swartzberg Pass starts at a narrow gorge and twists its way up a 4,500 foot mountain and back down. Most of the Pass’s landscape is scrubland but is still an amazing drive. One I was glad we experienced.
