October 25, 2004Day 15: ouch ouch ouch
As expected, today wasnīt the best of days. I had trouble keeping my eyes open at Spanish and decided to sleep between Spanish and salsa. Unfortunately, this was also the time Ivon had invited some builder to start hammering away so that didnīt help! At salsa, it was just me which meant lots of practice... Yoyi said it would be half an hour with her and the rest with Angél, but I didnīt get that far, as half way through I went white as a sheet and had to stop. Yoyi started sprinkling cologne (sp?) over me, to revive me. So endeth the salsa lesson a bit earlier than planned... but I guess with four hours sleep, no food and lots of dancing itīs hardly surprising. I went back home to sleep, and Ivon fed me a banana, to give me some vitamins. I did get some rest, but as things are heating up for the weekend, itīs very noisy. When I was busy feinting at salsa, something was going on outside, some black man being beaten up by another and lots of people standing around shouting, but it wasnīt clear what it was all about. Itīs very rarely you see any kind of violence here. I went to Los Siete Mares but I think lots of people were hung over from yesterday and I know a few were leaving Havana on Friday as well. I met Sofie, the other Belgian girl, and Frank (one of the Franciscoīs) was there as well. I promised to take Sofie to Habana Vieja tomorrow as sheīs a bit scared being on her own. It seems the steps everybody takes in Havana are Unfortunately, Iīm getting closer to step 4 now... Comments
