Who shall it be.

Bit of a dilemma.

If Italy win i got it right, but if France win its a middle digit to Le Pen.

Dunno. Will have to be neutral. Any suggestions?

Have I missed something…….

July 6th, 2006

…but since when have Portugal been the only diving cheating bassas in this World Cup? Henry, Cole? or have I been on the Guinness again?
Just bought a lovely Portugal no 17 shirt for next season. A snip off E-Bay. Bound to wind up the ABU nation.
Can we recall ’98?
” David Beckham went to France
As a national hero.
Got sent off, then came home
Reputation zero.
England fans
They’re all t**ts
They get so excited
Stick your England up your a***e
We are Man United!
Argentina! Argentina! ”
Ahem! Sing it loud, sing it proud!!

Bring it on italians

July 6th, 2006

After zidane showing Gerrard and co how to take a penalty against the oscar winning portugues we only have the italians to beat to regain the world crown. I believe if we drop Barthez we will do it for sure but i still thing with henry and co we will be strong enough now to win. Undefeated throughout after no one gave us a chance after the first 2 draws v Switzerland and Korea, bring it on italian pre-madonnas.

What is the league table anyway?

Man of the match…..

July 5th, 2006

last night (Germany v Italy) had to be the Mexican referee. A great attitude from both teams but the way the ref let the game flow was superb. Players were even getting up after crunching tackles instead of rolling around as if on the point of death. Sure, a bit of play acting towards the end but in the context of this World Cup that was bearable. Sad to see the Germans go out. Can this Italian side save the reputation of their national game?

Nobody loves football like the Italians.

July 4th, 2006

I bloody knew it. I bloody knew i knew it.

Nice to hear a resounding Walk On at the end. And also nice to see Ballack boo-hooing.

Heres my view of the world cup thingy.

England are shite, almost always have been and probably almost always will be.  The weight of expectation was unbearable. The media was/is unbearable. The public were, generally, unbearable (i had an incident after the ecuador game with a divvy singing rule britannia) The stupid pigs at the fa are stupid pigs. Sven must be a successful con man. The refs instructions were given by girls (sorry). The commentating is plumbing new depths ‘isnt it lovely to see two strikers playing with each other’. As for the commercial bullshit, making a load of Dutch fans take their shorts off because they didnt have an official sponsors name on. I ask you. EDF Energy. Who? Prepare youself with Gillette. Piss off. 15 years ago you couldnt have made it up. Its all gone wrong.

However im enjoying some of the football.

So instead of watching England lose i went to a festival to play with magic bunnies in the forest. The psy-trance was good. I get it now. I also may have seen members of Crass doing a gig from the back of a van. None of the popular hits but some very angry crusties all of the right sort of age wearing appropriate t-shirts. They were too angry to speak to but later on Joanna had a go. They gave her some tequila and told her to …. …

Anyway less of that. In this competition one of my choices for the top are in the final and dont anyone say i was lucky. It was skill.

Is there a prize?

I live in Leeds, away end and a piss up for the carling cup anyone?

The Inferno.

I thought it was only £24m

July 3rd, 2006

Well, at least we can get down to watching some decent footie for the remainder of the competition…

This from the Guardian’s fiver – expands well on the United and/or foreigners always to blame school:

Today’s Sun calls Cristiano Ronaldo “the world’s biggest winker” and a “Portuguese nancy boy”, while penalty flop Steven Gerrard brands him “bang out of order” and penalty flop Frank Lampard claims he’s “not very nice”. And even though penalty flop Jamie Carragher was man enough to admit “there’s no point in moaning”, a consensus seems to have emerged in Poor Little England that the fiendish winger wasn’t playing by the rules when he complained about Tabloid Wayne’s decision to trample Ricardo Carvalho’s crown jewels.

“I saw Ronaldo going over to the referee and giving him the card,” whinged serial diver Gerrard, exposing the incompetence of millions of viewers who failed to spot any such thing. “If he were one of my team-mates I would be absolutely disgusted with him,” continued Gerrard, who would presumably hold Ronaldo in much higher esteem if he’d stamped on a grounded player’s knackers.
“He’s supposed to be a team-mate of Wayne’s at [MU Rowdies] and he does something like that,” moaned Lampard, who’s supposed to be a team-mate of Carvalho’s at Chelsea. ” A lot has been made of trying to promote fair play in this tournament and that was certainly not fair play,” continued dim Lamps.

While all this childishness is as shameful as it was predictable, at least proud England fans can rely on their FA to stick out a stiff upper lip and show a shred of dignity in defeat. Can’t they? Um, not quite. For today’s Sun quotes “a top FA source” as revealing approvingly that Rooney is “determined to settle the score in his own way” when he sees Ronaldo back in Manchester. “Wayne said he would split him in two and smack him in the head,” hurrayed the hanger-on before booming, “and who can blame him?” Yes, who can blame him, or indeed any Englishmen, when it’s so much easier to blame an innocent Johnny Foreigner?

Very good…

£25 million down the swanee.

July 2nd, 2006

The English press is such a wonderfully predictable beast on days after our World Cup/ Euro exit. Let’s blame any Manchester United player that we can. But hey! This time they’ve struck gold! They can blame two! Rooney and Ronaldo. Forget the issues of what happened on the pitch though (although personally I think Chrissy was an absolute disgrace. I don’t say that as a little Ingurlunder but as someone who thinks wearing the blood red shirt of Manchester United forges loyalties way beyond national ties) this is sure to dominate the press for a couple of days. What the press should really be chasing are the blazers at Soho Square who should have seen through the whole sham that was the Sven era years ago. No, they will whistle quietly and disappear into the dark leaving Rooney to be sacrificed on the same altar as Becks, Phil, Gary and Scholesy have in the past. Look at it. We were told that we were witnessing a great era of English football with a golden generation of talent. The formation of the Premiership was a ‘master stroke, which would deliver much needed resources into all levels of our national game. Why, there would be gold plated shower rooms for our Sunday league players at Hoole Park. No! we were told. It wasn’t about corporate swines pushing their already over fed snouts ever deeper into the pig trough of Sky money. It was for all our benefit. We would see all this progress in our national game and one day…very soon…..we would……see our boys……lift the World Cup. Not once. but for many years to come as well.
Well what a load of bo*****s! Those t**ts at Soho Square have lectured us about fair play for years. Cantona delivers a swift bout of instant justice to a scummy piece of racist low life and gets a ban. Shearer boots Neil Lennon in the face right in front of MOTD cameras and gets the England captaincy in France ’98. Sven shags anything that moves in the FA offices (no wonder David Davies had that nervous, twitchy smile), meets fake sheikhs and basically drags the mantle once held by Alf Ramsey through the gutters of the World. What’s the FA’s response? To give him more money time after time. Try it at work eh? Get charged with gross misconduct and see if you get your wages doubled and your boss sacked as well! Exactly what are these pics and videos Sven had in his safe? Who in the FA appears in them?
So, here we are. £25 million pounds later and our national team is as bad as it ever was. Overrated Scousers missing penalties. WAGS on the piss. Tough, ‘ard Cockneys blubbing for all they are worth on the pitch.Man of the match yesterday was a lad who doesn’t play the celebrity game, plys his trade in the Bundesliga and was booed relentlessly by his own fans. But it’s still United to blame again!

PS.I use the term ‘us’,’we’ and ‘our’ in a very broad sense. Being as I have forked out enough dosh watching football in England over the years I regard myself as a shareholder. Look, that’s as far as it goes.Right? Up the Republic!

Viera oh oh

June 28th, 2006

Yes after Ghana’s galant effort in the competition but just could not get passed Brazil it is left for the French to help me towards the top of this league.

Yes after a much more convincing display against Spain than we have shown so far in the competiton a result in which knocks out Angela’s only remaining hope in this game, sorry Ang!!!!

We now go on to play the Brazilians to get revenge for sending Ghana out. As long as Henry keeps focused on the action on the pitch and does not keep looking at the nice looking brazilian ladies in the stand we stand a chance of progressing to play, I believe England!!!

Anyway, glad to still have 1 team left and looking forward to seeing an updated league table.

Also, more importantly, looking forward to see what Angelas view of her teams demise is since she has been very quiet recently!!!!

the germans march on, the aussies are blatantly cheated….

June 27th, 2006

who’s got bloody italy???? how they had the cheek to say that was a penalty, i’ll never know. one of the worst decisions of this world cup! and that includes our very own graham poll. if that was a penalty, i’m a monkey’s uncle.

the german army march on, however, into a clash with parry’s argies, who i think were very very lucky to squeeze past mexico.

heinze, crackin player, lovely man, but should of been sent off for hackin down the mexican on the edge of the box! ayala the last man?? when did he suddenly turn into thierry henry? there would of been time for the mexican to score the goal, celebrate, have a bath, get dressed and back on the team coach before ayala caught up with him.

argentina were good in the first round, but you get nothing for being good in the early rounds if you can’t follow it up in the knockout stages, do you angela?? teehee….

the world cup has been good, but its about to get great…

oh and figo is a cheating conniving diving headbutting tit…

Bye Bye Tunisia and Poland…….

June 23rd, 2006

……..and I really thought that these two would have produced the greatest World Cup Final of all time.Honest! Will console myself by going to see ‘The wind that shakes the barley’ over the weekend. So if you see a guy in a trenchcoat, a Sam Brown belt and a broad black brimmer swearing at passing Poles and Tunisians in Northgate Street….it’s me!!
By the way, for all you exiles, they are looking to close the Odeon you know? But the campaign is already sunk as our leading city politicos are putting their (not inconsiderable) weight behind a campaign to keep it open. Doomed, doomed I say!!
Time everyone got behind this blog and and started some serious slagging.
