Day 133: the shortest day

We got up at 4.30, it felt like it was the middle of the night and neither of us had slept very well. Luckily we didn't have long to wait before the 'le truck' came to take us to the airport.

At the airport I stepped gingerly down the stairs, my big bruise a reminder to take care. We checked in and had some breakfast (pain au chocolat and croissant - freshly made! the Tahitians have the French to thank for that!)

We changed the last of our CFP's in NZ dollars and waited in the departure lounge, which had a slightly seventies feel with its brown walls and leather sofas, and got on the Air Tahiti Nui plane.

LAN Chile still rules foodwise, although we did get a vanilla flower when we boarded and a goody bag with socks and wet wipes. I watched Shark Tale and King Arthur on the little screen in front of me (Keiron The Bourne Supremacy and King Arthur), the first being pretty good, the second appallingly bad.

Somewhere in the middle of this we passed the International Date Line so suddenly it was day 134 already...
