Day 116: Dumb & dumber

We slept late on our last day in mainland Chile, then got ourselves some books to read from the Libreria Ingles, as we will be stuck in the middle of the Pacific for a while.

I got Isabelle Allendes 'Fortuna's Daughter' and Keiron got 'The other Boleyn girl' by Philippa Gregory. I was very happy we got something other than John Grisham thrillers or Danielle Steele romances.

We went for another sandwich at Greenland, unfortunately we had Dumb&Dumber as our waitresses: one forgot our order, the other did not understand 'te con un poquito de leche' and gave us a cup of milk with a teabag plunged into it. The cook had an off-day too, forgetting the oregano which made our sandwich 'napolitano'. Needless to say we did not leave a tip.

After, we walked to Santa Lucia to read our books. You can see the mountains in the background, very impressive. We had a supermarket dinner in the hotel (the bedspread serving as picnic blanket) and I had a shower, then started packing. Tomorrow, South America is behind us...
