Bali 1
Sunday, March 13th, 2005Hi everyone, we are in Bali, Indonesia now. Communication with the outside world is not so easy as it was in Thailand, perhaps you have noticed our lack of posts, emails, and phone calls. We are back in a fairly touristy area now though, so we have access to decent internet, although it is not cheap. I may try to post photos tomorrow, we’ll see how the downloading is here.
The diving in Bali is excellent, the reef is extremely healthy and beautiful. We spent several days in a small town called Amed right near all the good dive sites, then moved north to another small town called Kedisan and climbed Ulan Batur, a fairly active volcano.
We are now in a town called Ubud, just north of the famous Kuta beach. We visited a monkey sanctuary today and they were a little too friendly. They just jumped on me a little but Dave had a couple of young ones ride around on him for quite a while.
Although it is hard to believe we have been gone over a month we are feeling a bit homesick. We miss Molly and Squeakie and feel a little ‘out of it’ when communication is difficult.
More later!
