A few days ago we took a cab across Cairo to Giza. The first thing that I noticed was the way the city came right up to the pyramids. Then I realized how huge they were. They were really amazing.
We saw the sphinx first. I think the paws were waaay to long.
The three pyramids were really big. I liked the giant one, and Dad and Emma liked the medium sized one. We call it Emma’s Pyramid.
At the end of the day we left and went to pizza hut. There we decided to watch the sound and light show from the rooftop. It was a total failure. We couldn’t hear anything, and they had an enormous bright light so we couldn’t see the light well either. So we went home.
Here’s what Emma has to say:
Today we took a taxi to the great pyramids. When we got there a bunch of school kids crowded around us and started asking our names and taking pictures of us. After that we went to the Sphinx. That was my favorite part. Then we went up to the pyramids. My favorite pyramid was the middle one with the cap on top. The first one was the biggest, the second one was the second biggest and the last one was the smallest. A guy took us on a little tour in the end. I didn’t like it though.
Glad to see an update, I was wondering where you were! Have you been in Egypt for 10 days? I’m glad you got to see the pyramids and the Sphinx, that would be on my must-see list, for sure.
Rosie is still chasing Ginger around. But she seems fine otherwise — I’m sure she’s looking forward to the day when she can be an only cat again!
The comments about British Airways brought back memories of traveling to Grenada. We went into the cockpit to meet the pilot and receive “wings” to pin on our shirts. A hot meal was served with silverware.
Where will ya’ll be over Thanksgiving and Xmas?
Hey, do ya’ll have a map of the places you’ve been that you can photograph and put on the blog? I’m thinking of a several continent map and lines are drawn between stops.
Take care!!
We love the pictures of Emma brushing her teeth with her eye patch on and Bjorn’s “lego guy” enjoying the pyramids. Thanks for keeping us updated!
