Catavina, Mexico (Mar 1-2)
We made 2 stops on the way to Catavina from Ensenada. First at La Bufadora (a blow-hole that sometimes geysers water 80 ft in the air). We didn’t see any 80 footers but it was still quite a show!
Our second stop was at a famous restaurant call Mama Espinosa’s in El Rosario. It has been a pit stop in the Baja Races since the first race. It has been a favourite place for many of the racers. Mmmm… crab burritos!
We left a little late from El Rosario and ended up driving in the dark for a while. That was scary! It was beautiful though but we won’t be doing any more night driving (it gets dark at 6pm). There was tons of mountains, cactus, narrow roads and semi trucks.
We stayed at a camp ground in Catavina in an old ranch. The view of the stars was AMAZING! We laid out on the hood of the car and watched them.
Woke up and did a sweet hike through the desert. There some seriously wierd and huge cacti! There is also strange piles of rocks in the middle of the desert. How did they get there?
