Mulege, Mexico (Mar 3-4)

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Mulege is a cool little authentic Mexican town on a river and a short walk from the ocean.  We found a great restaurant for cheap tacos (taqueria).  Met a cool danish couple there.

Woke up to a woodpecker pecking at all kinds of metal stuff.  It was really funny!  Really loud too!  He loved metal for some reason.  Explored the town and beach and then continued on our journey.

Guerrero Negro, Mexico (Mar 2-3)

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Camped in Guerrero Negro in an RV Park.  We had to pitch the tent on a concrete slab but thats ok because our neighbour came to our window with two beers and invited us over for fresh fish (Yellow Tail) burritos and guacaole and tea.  The food and the company was great!  There names are George and Dominique and they are from Oregon.  They are two of the nicest people we have ever met.

Woke up early the next morning to go on a whale watching tour.  George and Dominique had us over for tea before we left!  The whale watching was incredible!  There was an estimated 800 whales in the bay.  We saw them surfacing everywhere.  A couple came right up to the boat and poked their heads out of the water and looked right at us.  One even bumped into the boat.  We also saw eagles, seals, and one of the biggest Salt Works in the world (produces 60% of the worlds salt).

Catavina, Mexico (Mar 1-2)

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008
We made 2 stops on the way to Catavina from Ensenada.  First at La Bufadora (a blow-hole that sometimes geysers water 80 ft in the air).  We didn't see any 80 footers but it was still quite a show! [Continue reading this entry]

Ensanada, Mexico (Feb 29-Mar 1)

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008
We weren't planning on stopping here but did because of the antics at border.  Stayed at a campground downtown that was surrounded by a barb-wire fence and next to several clubs which played music until 4am.  p2290975.jpg[Continue reading this entry]

Stayed at a wierd hostel in Ocean Beach.  There was a lot of wierd people here but at least it had a buffet free breakfast in the mornings.  Lots of hippies/punks/surfers/skaters here, oh and lots of bums.  Lots of partying ... [Continue reading this entry]
