January 28, 2005Made it to Goa
Well haven't written for a while now but thats because theres been so much going on (plus I'm extremely lazy...) :-) Everything seemed to be going well... then we got massively ill on the night before we were set to get the bus. Seriously Camilla was having aching stomach pains and I was having a dodgy stomach and flu symtoms... wasnt very nice. We started to doubt whether we'd make the bus the next night at all. So when we woke up in the morning we lay dead all morning and afternoon and then decided we'd chug some pills and re-hydration salts and lots of water and food. We started feeling a bit better so ventured out to the shop to get some (much-needed) bus supplies (pringles and chocolate!!) but then I like blacked out in the shop and had to be pumped with water before I passed out completely! it was scary. We got to Goa in the morning and got a taxi into Calangute. Although the driver sneakily took us to the very south, where is really quite and full of old (leathery) british people!! We ended up liking the quietness though... especially after Mumbai!! and it was right beside the beach shack Reggies, that serves great affordable food! (We ate constantly at beach shacks... theyre so good!!) We moved up to Anjuna yesterday (Thursday) after 5days in Calangute and I have to say I like it a lot more here!! it's full of people who look around our age, fellow travellers... nice!! and there's this really nice eating place called 'Sea Queen' that we found which shows movies after 7pm!! So you can eat and watch movies!! its so cool. It's really affordable too! So far we havent done much here in Anjuna, although we plan to go to the infamous market tomorow and try out the night life tonight. So I shall reprt back with more info soon!! love, kirsty Comments
