Made it to Goa

Well haven't written for a while now but thats because theres been so much going on (plus I'm extremely lazy...) :-)
So Camilla and I ventured out on our own to organise our transport down to Goa. We took the local bus into Bandra (Mumbai) and -sort of- found the booking office for Paulo Bus Tours. I use the term 'found' loosely though because we found the building it was in... but there were no signs or clues to where the booking office might have been... so we were standing looking bamboozled and some random guy wandered over and saved us!! he lead us over to this door that I swear wasn't there when we looked before, and there was this room with like 10 Indian women sat eating curry around a table. That was the booking office!! :-)
So we were chuffed with that!
We got our tickets, at 600rs each, and celebrated by having some Lipton Ice Tea that we stumbled upon randomly.

Everything seemed to be going well... then we got massively ill on the night before we were set to get the bus. Seriously Camilla was having aching stomach pains and I was having a dodgy stomach and flu symtoms... wasnt very nice. We started to doubt whether we'd make the bus the next night at all. So when we woke up in the morning we lay dead all morning and afternoon and then decided we'd chug some pills and re-hydration salts and lots of water and food. We started feeling a bit better so ventured out to the shop to get some (much-needed) bus supplies (pringles and chocolate!!) but then I like blacked out in the shop and had to be pumped with water before I passed out completely! it was scary.
WE made the bus that night though.
That was an experience....
The road from Mumbai to Goa is nothing more that a glorified dirt track.. so the whole night was spent rolling around our berths like a roller coaster ride (complete with some guy throwing up beside me all night... he was like a machine!!)
:-)

We got to Goa in the morning and got a taxi into Calangute. Although the driver sneakily took us to the very south, where is really quite and full of old (leathery) british people!! We ended up liking the quietness though... especially after Mumbai!! and it was right beside the beach shack Reggies, that serves great affordable food! (We ate constantly at beach shacks... theyre so good!!)
We also hit Club Cobana on Wednesday night there. it was ladies night so free entry and drinks for ladies woohoo!! it was a lovely club though and really packed which was cool! Except I drank too much again... :-( ooops!!

We moved up to Anjuna yesterday (Thursday) after 5days in Calangute and I have to say I like it a lot more here!! it's full of people who look around our age, fellow travellers... nice!! and there's this really nice eating place called 'Sea Queen' that we found which shows movies after 7pm!! So you can eat and watch movies!! its so cool. It's really affordable too!

So far we havent done much here in Anjuna, although we plan to go to the infamous market tomorow and try out the night life tonight. So I shall reprt back with more info soon!!

love, kirsty
