Travel med clinic bill + cost of meds to be added

18 DAYS

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

The days are getting shorter & my calendar now reads Agosto (got it in Cuba).

All that I am missing now is a pair of good wool hiking socks, have to get “pina” to come to my rescue on them, travel meds, the travel clinic nurse wasn’t sure on anti-malarial pill to use due to the number of countries I am visiting as in some areas there is a resistance to one but a different one in another area so she is going to consult with the doctor before making a decision  & Mongolian visa.

Managed to apply for my Russian visa early as http://www.realrussia.co.uk is able to take the orders up to 180 days prior to the trip so I had that + they did up my itinerary. Took it all into the Russian Consulate in Toronto last Thursday where they were happy with the paper work but had to go to the bank in the lobby to get a money order for the $226.00 fee. Just have to go back & pick it up on Tuesday.

Finally got the insurance company to agree insure my wheel chair bus as a private van so I can now take it out of the company name & since it’s fiscal year ended July 31, now able to dissolve the company. Good timing as got a letter from the Ontario gov’t saying that there was now a requirement to renew CVOR’s yearly at a fee (read TAX) of $100.00, NO way José McSquinty!!!!

Had the doors, which didn’t look too bad, on my Scout sandblasted & Oh-Oh now the don’t look so good but a call to good ole Super Scout found a decent pair. Now as shipping parts that size isn’t cheap will be leaving Thurs am on a road trip to Springfield Ohio & as I will be in the neighbourhood anyway (only within a couple hundred miles out the way coming home) might as well take in the Truck Show & Swap Meet at Carlisle PA. Have to go to the US for a good how & find parts UNavailable this side of the border but of course still get RIPPED-OFF BIG time at Canadian customs when you cross.

Will be back a day then head for Capitol City to get my Mongolian visa & catch Stompin’ Tom at Scotiabank Place, might even deliver a bus at the same time to pay for the trip.

All but food & hostels paid for through the end on October ( the expensive trips) & bank account still in good shape so budget still on track.
