Almost ready to go!
Hi Everyone
We will be setting off on 29th June for our round the world trip. You can use this blog to see where we have got to and what we have been doing. The rough itinerary is as follows. We fly to St Petersburg and after a few days getting a bit of culture we move on by train to Moscow for some more sightseeing. Then we board the Trans-Siberian Railway for Beijing, stopping off en route for some trekking round Lake Baikal and in Mongolia. After a couple of months exploring China (hopefully Ann’s Mandarin will be intelligible to the Chinese!) we will head off to Australia, landing in Darwin and travelling down the west coast to Perth. An internal flight will take us to Melbourne and after a short time there we will move on to New Zealand for some tramping, mountaineering, sea kayaking etc. Christmas and New Year on the beach willl be followed by a flight to Chile. After that it all gets a bit sketchy but watch this space.

Sounds Great: who is colin thurbin?
Sounds like you have been to most of the War and Peace locations in Moscow and St Petersburg. You could have read that on the train. God knows you had enough time.
