Luang Nam Tha, villages, forest and Lao Lao!!
TA TA TA TA !!!!!!!
HOLA!!!!
🙂 he he ! I’m in Luang Prabang, probably one of the nicest cities I’ve seen in Asia! It was declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO a couple of years ago and it’s sweet!!!
But let me tell you about what I did for the last 5 days, and may be tomorrow you’ll hear about this beautiful place
I got to Luang Nam Tha, a “city” with two roads and very little pavement, where I sign up for a trek tour. I’m not a big fan of organized tours but I decided to take the risk. There was 8 of us in the group, plus 2 guides who couldn’t be more polite or sweet. It’s funny how groups start to socialize, specially when there are several nationalities involved, large age differences and you are walking and sweating thru the jungle. I met really cool people. We stayed overnight in two different villages, two different tribes, had local food (tons and tons of sticky rice), Lao Lao (rice wine grrrr…) and chated with the chiefs of the villages, with our guide as a translator. It was an amazing experience, way better than I had expected and I really recommend it to anyone traveling to northern Laos. You can really see how the rural life is, because the villages don’t recieve many visitors (twice a month) so they are still “pure”, like children running naked playing with the chickens, pigs sniffing everything in their reach, showering in the river, rice plantations and so on.
After three wonderful days I came back to the metropolis, slept on a bed with a half centimeter matress, and jumped on a bus that after 9 long hours brought me half alive to Luang Prabang. I don’t want to bore you with more details in broken english, so as usual I’ll let the pictures tell the story,
lots of love from….

Hi Simon.
That was a great trip and such amazing pictures you have taking. It was nice to take a look at the trip once again. It’s too bad that I have first visited your site now. I will definitely visit it more often too follow tour amazing adventure. It was really nice to get to meet you in this remote part of Laos.
Thank you.

Dear Simonara, Thank you very much for the excellent photos. I’ve been to Laos twice and the next time I go, because of your posting, I too will go to Luang Nam Tha. Laos is the most undiscovered country in Southeast Asia – a wonderful, wonderful and again wonderful place.
Again, thanks,
John (Dallas, Texas USA)
