Hola and welcome to my blog!
I started this blog in 2005 when I moved to Ibiza, Spain, to work as a waiter. After a year of hard work and too many tourist, I saved enough money to start backpacking around the globe.
Feel free to navigate using the right hand side menu, where you can select from a bunch of countries I visited.
The purpose of this blog was to keep my family and friends updated on my travels and my photography.
I hope you enjoy it

One of the most beautiful places I’ve been! It’s in northern Colombia, right on the beach, no electricity and amazing food!
Was recently added to the Lonely Planet Colombia as one of the best places to visit!
Check it out!!
Hi all!
Additionally from being a avid backpacker and photographer, I’m a scientist!
I’m working on my doctorate at the University of Idaho, looking at the phylogenetic relationships of the mostly Andean genus Bartsia (Orobanchaceae). I use molecular methods to infer the evolutionary history of this very cool group of plants!
If you are interested in my research check out my website at: http://www.simonuribe.com

p.s. Watch it in HD (High Definition, well worth it)
After a very long silence, I finally bring you some pictures!
Here’s a sample of my work during this event that took place last weekend. More than 200 photographers joined in! The selected pictures will be exhibit as large prints throughout the city.
Cross your fingers, here are mine.
Comments, critiques and questions are welcome!
Ecoogler is a search engine that donates money to reforest the Amazon jungle.
For every search you make a leave is donated. 10,000 leaves are a tree. It may not sound much but just think of how many time a day you search something in Google and then you might realize that your two cent CAN and WILL make a difference!
Help out, use Ecoogler. Plant a tree.
