Preening on South Beach, Miami
I am well decked out to preen on the beach as other preeners, but my eyes popped out when I realized that the beautiful form lounging behind me was a transv…te ! As beautiful as can be, that person really made my day – I love South Beach. There are people who cry a lot about it being too commercialized and “damaged” and I hear snippets of “no personal space” but I think it has its high points. There is something life affirming about a sea of overexposed bodies laying on the beach in the din of a commercial beach with rentals, boarders around.
I have to tell you this – the beach is as exciting at night as by day. Club Deep is the place to hit – the dance floor over a fish tank – I am not sure how vibration proof the tank is but the fishes swiming under my feet didn’t in the least seem hypered by the boombastic music playing overhead. The hypnotic lounge is cool, especially if there are free drinks till 10 pm. Yep, we got there by 9:40, and in typical cheapie style, I had 3 tequila shots and a cranberry vodka down before 10. The night was beautiful afterwards. We hit bar after bar. Eating was not a priority, but the food on the restaurants lining the beach is to some degree multi cusine.
