24 hours in Brisbane
A short ride down from Rainbow is the city of Brisbane. I have a day here, where I wander around the pleasant city, cut in half by the river. There’s a few sights to see, and some nice parkland on the southbank to chill out in. Unbelievable as it sounds, I stayed in the fashionable West end, in a Queenslander house (wooden with tin roofs). There are plenty of random eateries round here, I even had some Lebanese, which was … nice.
But now I’m pretty much spent, over 11,000km in about 6 weeks, and it’s time for my Christmas holiday, at the small, slightly hippy town of Byron Bay, just over the border into New South Wales. This is my last stop before back to Sydney and moving on to yet another country.
