Update @ Mile End

Well everyone, I hope you’re enjoying my travels so far, sometimes I can’t get to the net easily so I’ve been writing my blog on my laptop and uploading a couple of days at a time, I’ve got a bit of time so I’ll see how I go with uploading some pics from the last couple of weeks.

Enjoy, missing you all, but loving it here!

No really, not all of it.

The underground is disgusting, you come home with grime on your face and black soot up your nose, the disability access to train stations is ridiculous – most are just stairs and maybe escalators. People drop their litter everywhere because there aren’t really enough bins after the London Bombings – I feel like writing a letter to the councils saying hey, why don’t you get plastic see through bins like Melbourne has – not classy, but better than dropping your shit on the ground.

I cannot wait for these new anti-smoking laws, only four weeks to go. When we went out the other night I had really bad reactions to all the smoke and had to run off the to loos to dry my tear stained eyes and clear my hacking throat.

Today is the first half-day Lija and I have spent apart in London, she is at her interview for an admin temping agency and I am researching the media jobs around the area.

Mile End was crazy last night, some of the boys got back from their week in Morrocco, so there were about ten people sleeping in the house last night. Everyone’s really nice, and we’re learning about how the house works. Got keys cut yesterday but of course mine is dodgy and won’t work so we’re taking it back later. Because us two are on the top floor with the bathroom we both separately hacked away with the disinfectant this morning – Lija came out and said she cleaned the toilet and put in the hangy thing she bought, and I told her I had done the shower early that morning! Great minds think alike, and as Carrie said to us, it’s great to have more girls in the house – Dwayne already called Lija ‘mum’ the other day as a joke!

Lazy dayz at the races - too hot!  Sarah, Em, Lija and Mara  Despite what it looks like, I'm blowing on a party noise thingy!  Lija attempting to take down the shade tent at the Derby.  Emma - who is so glad we haven't photoshop-ed this pic! Yet!  My lovely sunburnt back  Magnolia House  Lija and her beannie dog  Lija and Mara
