Volunteer in the jungle

Friday, June 18th, 2010

I´ve heard great things about this and the guy who runs it.. The real jungle experience!

Wachimak is an indigenous community of the Kichwas in the Amazon jungle, located in the province of Napo in eastern Ecuador. We need the help of volunteers, teaching children as well as adults, helping out with reforestation and construction work. Please bear in mind that this is a very raw community project and volunteers therefore need to know how to work independently and on own initiative.

We can also use the help of engineers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, doctors, dentists and people educated in agriculture. We also accept journalists and travel writers if you wish to write about our community.
