Shoot it again!

from cleolinda: omgwtfbabybear! EEEEEE.

Komodo dragon proud mum (and dad) of five: “Flora, a Komodo dragon who has never mated or even mixed with a male, is the proud mother and father of five baby dragons, scientists said on Wednesday.”

Ah biology. And although I wouldn’t quite squeal at the baby polar bear – it IS adorable, and very sweet to see a baby, as they might now be listed as a threatened species.

And since I am finishing up my current batch of photos (now over at webshots) I’m watching movie trailers (its been so long! I have no idea what’s coming out! Of course, everything is bizarre over here – the wind that shakes the barley came out a year before it will in the states, while Hollywoodland is opening Friday) Anyways, I think I have to go see this: http://www.blacksheep-themovie.com/ After all, it is New Zealand (and WETA).  Have I mentioned I want to see a weta? (A real one, not the special effects studio).

Oh – and I forgot to mention, I have a red bump on my cheek. I can’t figure out what it is, but for 2 days my cheek has been inflamed and swollen. It looks like someone hit me. Or that baby spiders are going to pop out (anyone else remember that horror story?) Maybe that’s where my nightmares came from.

Is your cheek better? Did you go see a Doctor? Was it a spider (or other bug) bite? You know how I worry….

It cleared up on its own (I put hot compresses on it) although you can still see where it was. I don’t know what it was – an infection or something. Maybe an infected bug bite, but there aren’t many bugs here, particularly in winter.
I am going to the doctor when I get back, to get a TB x-ray to get an NZ visa. (since I lived in Africa within the last 5 years).
