Productive girl!
ARGH I WROTE A WHOLE POST AND BOOTSNALL DELETED IT!!!
The gist of it; I had fresh baked bread for bfast (my hostel is awesome), I applied for my tax number, switched my cell to New Zealand, am updating my CV, and got an apartment with – wait for it – MY OWN ROOM. FULLY FURNISHED. And the room is huge, very sunny, and has a bed that ISN’T A TWIN BED!! And fairly close to city center. I move in Aug 10 till at least Oct 20th. Lots of international people there, and a fireplace (very warm – although it isn’t too cold here).
Christchurch is very charming, if a bit small. The tallest building is 12 stories (everything’s up to date in Kansas city).
The runways of all Air New Zealand flights have life sized pictures of the All Blacks glaring down at you. It’s kind of intimidating.
Going to the temp agency tomorrow. And applying for a bank account. Then I’ll be like a full resident!
