Ambitious Ostrich
Day 59
We just left the Safari Ostrich Farm, the first activity, and first full day in the Garden Route. It was cool, interesting, and just plain fun!
My favorite part was sitting on and riding the ostrich. When I sat on the ostrich, I felt its spine and the soft feathers underneath me, I felt as if I was sitting on a cloud. While I was riding the Ostrich I had to lean back to keep my balance and had to hold on for dear life.
My second favorite part was standing on the Ostrich eggs.
You can jump or sit the egg, but it won’t break. The egg won’t break as long as the person standing on it is under 170lbs.
The mother was right there watching and when one person in our group got off the eggs, the mother bit their finger.
We saw some baby ostriches. They ran toward us because they think humans mean feeding time, but normally ostrich chicks are shy or afraid.
Two of the buildings that were pointed out were the museum, and an eighteen-room house.
Three of the rooms in the house were bathrooms, one of which has a tub large enough for five adults to fit in. The museum was one room. In this room was an ostrich skeleton, eggs and feather samples.
After all that, we still had the Cango Caves to visit and nearly a full day ahead of us. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Safari Ostrich Farm.

You two look great on those eggs. Connor loved that kiss with the Ostrich’s that was one great time for you all.
I also loved watching you both on the ropes going arcross the valley or what ever you would call it. I’ve got some great grandchildren, will do anything to have fun!
