d) what will you pack?

“He who would travel happily must travel light.”
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900-1944)

When you have to carry everything on your back, you think very carefully about what you actually need. We are taking some *non-essential* items, but have decided they are worth the extra weight for the usefulness they will offer. We are also packing more clothes than if we were going for a shorter trip or if we were only going to follow the sun.
We are **really** hoping the under-three-year-old actually manages to walk without complaining – and that the over-threes manage to carry *all* the gear assigned to them.

Rachel, your intricate simplicity blog is gone and I am in the first stage of making my traveling bean pot. I need help on some details. I have an insulated bag sort of thing which will be the case, inside will be some semblance of a wool sweater but I am in need of the perfect bean pot (ceramic or metal)? Cook beans right in metal pot and transfer to ceramic? I just don’t know. Also cooking directions? So much to learn. . .we are heading out this summer on a 1 month adventure preparing for 2009 adventure. Any traveling food bag, bean pot info would be awesome!

We were keen to check out what sleeping bags you guys are using, but the link above seems to have died. Can you let us know the name of them so we can look them up on the net? Thanks heaps.
